Of the two clubs I've played at recently one had no alerts or announcements. OK, that was where I took some beginners to play. The other one is not a beginners club and there are next to no alerts or announcements - they barely remember to announce the 1N range. Clearly nobody gives a fig about the EBU and their ideas at those two clubs.
